The above picture is called ‘Chives towards the sun’ and was painted in my garden. I love to paint outside. There is much inspiration to be drawn from everything that happens whatever of the season. I love the movement of the chive flowers towards the sun.

The following picture is called Poppies. I painted this in June 2015 after studying a patch of poppies growing in our garden. I adore these flowers and I enjoyed sitting and watching the bees getting drunk on their nectar whilst I studied their form. Each flower lasts just a short time but offers such beauty when it flowers. Poppies marked the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War with the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red installation at The Tower of London. They will forever be associated with post war new growth and remembrance.
